Reflections on “Invincibility” from Jami Devans now in Vinnytsia
From Vinnytsia, Jami Devans reflects on a word she sees throughout Ukraine: незламності — “invincibility.” In a country living with profound loss, she has come to understand that invincibility does not mean being untouched by suffering or always “winning.” It means refusing to surrender who you are.
Through what she has witnessed in rehabilitation centers, on city streets and in the everyday lives of Ukrainians carrying the weight of war, Jami offers a deeply personal reflection on resilience, sacrifice and what it means to remain unbroken—even in the face of unimaginable cost.
